Question
"Now that house prices are falling dramatically does anyone expect their council tax follow suit?
In what exciting time we live under the self-proclaimed 'best chancellor ever and I now declare myself Prime Minister' Brown, now revealed as possibly the most incompetent holder of both positions.
The value of our homes are falling week by week but, is their a gleam of sunlight appearing through the clouds?
Our own house, a fifty-year-old semi, has now been reduced in value to such an extent that according to my local council's tax bands my abode should be downgraded, and the older humbler dwellings removed from the list altogether.)
MP's should claim 50% less in their claims for secondary housing, except in the case of Ed Balls and his spouse Yvette Balls Cooper, who appear to be fiddling this allowance anyway and with impunity.
Any chance of a council tax rebate, or the scrapping of those useless home valuation packs of the aforementioned Yvette's?
I'm not holding my breath, are you?

Fat chance. I like the idea though but it won't happen.

Lol, no chance of this happening. I also wish that he would stop sticking his nose into other peoples affairs in other countries, and start sorting out the mess in UK. The country is going to the dogs. (sorry, off topic, but he makes me so angry....!)

Not likely, don't know what we pay the damn thing for in the first place, its a damn rip off for what we get. The firm I work at pays £1200 council tax a month, for what ?, we pay for our refuse collection seperately, everytime we have been broken into the police have been pretty damn useless (not even actually come to the factory to investigate, just gave us a crime number) so what are we actually paying £13,400 a year for ????

If we wait the 2 years until the next general election,Brown will have completed sowing the seeds for this country's doom. We must campaign in the streets if needs be for an immediate general election. Unfortunately, the major parties dont offer any radical change, preferring to merely reduce the speed at which our great nation descends into disaster. That is why I will be voting BNP

Once upon a time there was these people who lived on this Island who paid this poll tax , many of them wrote on yahoo , their little houses that poured smoke out of the little chimneys became of less and less value , but every year the local chiefs sent out a little letter to each and every one of them demanding money . Even though their little houses became less and less in value the little chiefs didn't stop sending the little letters all colourful and printed demanding money , enough was enough said the little complainers group " you have to stop sending these little letters demanding money . " One brave little poll tax payer posted on Yahoo complaining and he was joined by many others ., but it was July so nobody would listen until the following April , " has it something to do with the star signs " said another Yahoo poster .

No, I think that council tax will go up to pay for higher salaries for council workers (they are going on strike soon).
