Question
What exactly IS the Dems "New Direction"?
LET'S JUST ANALYZE THE DEMOCRAT PROMISE.
"A New Direction for America - Vote Democrat"
The stock market is at a new all-time high and America's 401K's are back.A new direction from there means, what?
Unemployment is at 25 year lows.
A new direction from there means, what?
Oil prices are plummeting.
A new direction from there means, what?
Taxes are at 20 year lows.
A new direction from there means, what?
Federal tax revenues are at all-time highs.
A new direction from there means, what?
The Federal deficit is down almost 50%, just as predicted over last year.
A new direction from there means, what?
Home valuations are up 200% over the past 3.5 years.
A new direction from there means, what?
Inflation is in check, hovering at 20 year lows.
A new direction from there means, what?
Not a single terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11/01.
A new direction from there means, what?
Osama bin Laden is living under a rock in a dark cave, having not surfaced in years, if he's alive at all, while 95% of Al Qaeda's top dogs are either dead or in custody, cooperating with US Intel.
A new direction from there means, what?
Several major terrorist attacks already thwarted by US and British Intel, including the recent planned attack involving 10 Jumbo Jets being exploded in mid-air over major US cities in order to celebrate the anniversary of the 9/11/01 attacks.
A new direction from there means, what?
Just as President Bush foretold us on a number of occasions, Iraq was to be made "ground zero" for the war on terrorism -- and just as President Bush said they would, terrorist cells from all over the region are arriving from the shadows of their hiding places and flooding into Iraq in order to get their faces blown off by US Marines rather than boarding planes and heading to the United States to wage war on us here.
A new direction from there means, what?
Now let me see, do I have this right? I can expect:
The economy to go South
llegals to go North
Taxes to go Up
Employment to go Down
Terrorism to come In
Tax breaks to go Out
Social Security to go away
Health Care to go the same way gas prices have gone
I can gain comfort by knowing that Nancy P, Hillary C, John K, Edward K, Howard D, Harry R and Obama have worked hard to create a comprehensive National Security Plan, Health Care Plan, Immigration Reform Plan, Gay Rights Plan, Same Sex Marriage Plan, Abortion On Demand Plan, Tolerance of Everyone and Everything Plan, How to Return all Troops to the U.S. in The Next Six Months Plan, A Get Tough Plan, adapted from the French Plan by the same name and a How Everyone Can Become as Wealthy as We Are Plan.
Oh and I forgot, the No More Katrina Storm Plan.
Sunshine....how is my question "Hateful"? Where do I call anyone names? Not ONE person who has answered my question has told me what the Dems "New Direction" is. And all I asked was What IS there New Direction?
er, THEIR....I know, I know....hey, I'm dyslexic ok?

You ask that like there is a plan. There isn't. We'd have heard it right now. But the poor dems are too busy hiding the corruption within their own party. Poor kids.

Quit your partisan blabbering. The last 6 years have been plagued by corruption, pork-barrel spending, and incompetence and the American people recognized that on election day.

Republicans also inherited the recession, but some of the Democrats planned changes will include raising the minimum wage and making changes in Iraq, which the people are eager for.

Sure the democrat party is quite screwed up. But if you're going to sit there and judge democrats and ignore that there are PLEANTY of problems in the Republican party then you're an ignorant fool. I'm not saying admit 9/11 was Bush's fault or anything like that (I HATE conspiracy theories). I just want someone to be sensible for once and see that people are loosing faith in the current administration and the Republican party needs to do something to win people back. That both parties are so far from the center people feel alienated. Then again you're not helping. All people like you do is make the other side look bad. Cry cry cry whine whine whine. I don't care if you aren't democrat or don't agree with them, but being hateful just makes YOU look worse, fool. Instead of telling me why democrats are evil (you sound like those idiots who claim bush = hitler) you should ask a question about something responsible. You know... like what this site is supposed to be about. So howabout it? Ask our opinions of the current administration and what the new Democrats have to do to fix this country (if you believe they will). But don't you dare waste my time with your pitiful ranting about the other party in this country. This country is built off of 2 parties so get used to it! If you don't like it then... well you're against democracy now aren't you?

Well put! Of course, we've seen the light all along. The only problem is that the other side is so full of hatred for us and our President that they cannot see the truth for what it is. As someone else has posted - yes, the people have spoken and things will change. The downward spiral will soon begin. Those Republicans that helped by voting Democrat will see and feel the error of their ways and the pendulum will swing back to the correct position. All that we can do is hope that our country is still standing by then.

The 2006 election was a crystal clear answer to the question, "Where do Americans stand?" Every single incumbent Democrat was re-elected, and scores more Democrats beat Republican challengers everywhere. Democrats are the majority in America. Get used to it.

A few flaws in your question. We are just now finally getting the stock market past the point we were before the Bush regime took office. We used to have new highs almost monthly. Unemployment is not at a 25 year low by most of the meausrments I have seen. And even if we make that claim most new jobs are in low paying jobs and most jobs leaving are manufacturing higher paying jobs. Oil prices are still considerably higher then in 2000. Driving inflation. Taxes are at a 20 year low for the top 5% of the country and this as a total dollar amount but those making less than $150K have not seen squat. And those making less than $30K have actually seen total taxes go up in most states due to rising property taxes. Federal tax revenues are not at an all time high, that just is not true. The federal deficit is still incredily high, and our national debt is skyrocketing. Home valuations are up, but slowing compared to the boom of the late 90's. Inflation is growing and so have been interest rates. Only one since the last one, on the terrorsist attacks. Is that really what you want to arrgue? You are forgetting. The average American has less disposable income compared to any point in history according to Forbes Magazine. We have more debt as a nation then at any point in our history. The top 1% (those making over $1 Million a year) control the highest percentage of wealth in our nations history according to Forbes magazine. In some states, like MN, those making $30K pay a higher total tax percentage then those who make $150K. Schools are in the worst funding position in history according to the American Association of Teachers. Thus larger class sizes and worse education for our children. We have companies like Toyota openiong plants in Canada instead of the US because of our health care costs. We are the only industrialized nation that does not have single payer health care We have the worst health care of any industrialized nation for our average citizen. Looks to me like we have some room for improvement.

It is not made up that 36% approve of president Bush. More but not many more approve of a Republicans. A better question is, How can so many things be good, and people still don't approve of Republicans? Perhaps, the most of the above you mentioned (althought not all correct) cannot be contributed to Republicans but more to economic life cycles. Interest rates were extremely low in 2001-2004, hence company growth, home appreciation, tax revenues, etc. The Republican congress didn't accomplish that much and while figures look pretty decent, they don't represent the average American. The economy is now slowing, unemployment rates will increase (along with the cycle). Oil prices are at $63/ barrel with OPEC increasing cuts in production. It will be interesting to watch these last two years.

Osama bin Laden is living under a rock in a dark cave, having not surfaced in years, if he's alive at all, while 95% of Al Qaeda's top dogs are either dead or in custody, cooperating with US Intel. Then why can't we win the war in Iraq? Is that the liberal media's fault? Or is it due to the fact we have a clueless President who doesn't even care where Osama is? Uhh -- Gosh, I -- don't think I ever said I'm not worried about Osama bin Laden. It's kind of one of those, uhh, exaggerations. -- To quote Dubya (3/13/2002): "I -- I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him." Third Presidential Debate, Tempe, Arizona, Oct. 13, 2004

Where are you getting the "facts and numbers" you are posting? Even using your numbers, what percentage of Americans do you think this is helping? The Dow is at an all time high, the Dow consists of thirty stocks out of thousands. The stock market is NOT at an all time high. Deficit down? Oil plummeting? Another post full of misinformation. Thanks for your input.
