What is the average price for a non transaction home appraisal?
I am interested in knowing what my house is worth, but am not looking to sell right now. Is there a different price for this than would be for an appraisal to sell?

Home appraisal for new house lower than building cost ?
We are constructing a new house. Community is relatively new. In this community few houses have be depreciated this year. Is it possible that when we appraise our home, after construction is complete, the appraised value can be lower than the combined land cost and building cost ? In this case can we back out from buying this house at all ? Are we legally bound to buy this property from the builder even if it's value had gone down.

How much does decor affect home appraisal value?
I recently bought a townhouse as-is and it appraised for $110. When I'm done painting and replacing all the flooring, the entry way tile and fireplace tile and some of the light fixtures, do you think the appraisal value will increase?

Will construction of driveway increase home appraisal?
We live in a 3-bedroom, 1 bath home. The garage was converted to create the 3rd bedroom. There is currently a concrete driveway graded to an incline, but it has an odd bump in it that makes parking on it nearly impossible for most cars. If we had the driveway repaved to a flat surface, would this increase our home's value?

Why is a home assessment usually lower than a home appraisal?
When looking at property records, it seems that most houses have a much lower assessed value than what the home actually appraised and sold for. Why is this? For instance: A home is appraised for $100,000, yet the county's assessment of the property is only $69,000.

Need help on home appraisal for a divorce with recent renovations.?
We owned the home for only 2 years during our marriage but put 14,000 into upgrades such as insulations, new bathroom floor, sink etc, new water heater, running heat ducts to each room upstairs instead of 1 vent by the steps, replaced old sliding doors with french, new front door etc.. This is 14,000 we sunk in the home during our marriage just at that area. We also bought an outdoor wood burner that heats the water and pipes it underground to heat your house off your own wood safely and heats water for free. This was around $10,000 apprxx and maybe 2 gran is owed. My soon to be x is saying there is not any equity in the home so that he gets to keep it, along with most of my things too. I have the appraisal from Jan 2005 and it has 2 figures one is 138,000 the other maybe 118,000 which is what we talked them down to for the sale. As of Jan 2007 110,000 was owed on the principle. I am saying we put a lot into the house it has got be worth more than what is owed. Any advice?
